Lauren & Jack || Portland, ME Winter Engagement
Portland, Maine is a special city for Lauren & Jack. Not only is it where Lauren hung out and worked for several years during college (Allagash Brewing Company), but it is also where Jack proposed to Lauren. So when the time came to do their engagement shoot, they knew that Portland would be their location. Lauren & Jack met at The Burren in Somerville, MA back in 2020 right at the beginning of Covid, and got engaged this past April.
Now as you may well know, January in Maine can be a bit on the cooler end of the heat index. Despite the bitter cold, we were able to capture quite a few photos along the cobblestone-paved side streets in downtown Portland, including the exact location where Jack proposed.
After a while, the three of us randomly sought refuge inside Josephs of Portland for a bit of a reprieve from the cold. (Side Note: Phenomenal clothing, super friendly staff!) and were actually able to make a few images within the store as well. We ended Lauren & Jack’s engagement session at Lauren’s former workplace, The Allagash Brewing Company), where everyone welcomed us with with much warmth & hospitality. Lauren was also able to catch up with a few of her former co-workers while there, Amelia and Carly, who, as you will see, made it into a few photos too!
